Immigration Registration Permission (IRP) is what turns the D-Study visa into a valid residence stamp inside Ireland. Slots at the Registration Office / GNIB (outside Dublin) sell out weeks in advance, especially at the start of an academic term. Book early — 'I have time' is the actual trap here.
- 1As soon as you have a Dublin (or regional) address, book the IRP appointment via inisregistrationonline.blob.core.windows.net (Dublin) or your local Garda station.
- 2Bring: passport + D-Study visa page, admission letter, private health insurance certificate, proof of address, EUR 300 fee.
- 3Collect the IRP card (mailed) — keep it on you; it's the proof of legal stay, not the D-Study sticker.
